This week, the Odisha BJP brass visited Delhi to discuss pending issues, cabinet reshuffle and grievances of MPs. State chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi landed in the national capital on Tuesday and met top party leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and the BJP's national president JP Nadda. Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo was already in Delhi and the party's state president Manmohan Samal joined them. Some of the state ministers were also present in Delhi.
A meeting of party MPs, state ministers and leadership took place at the residence of Bolangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo. Some of the MPs had earlier expressed disappointment over not being consulted by the state government for the projects and development work in their constituencies. The meeting was held to resolve the issues and proceed with the development agenda.
"The appointments in state corporations and boards will take place first in almost a month's time from now. This will be followed by the organisational appointments and then a cabinet reshuffle," BJP Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar told ET.
Tomar, however, denied that the Delhi visits and meetings had anything to do with the appointments and cabinet reshuffle.
