Gypsy-Rose Blanchard expressed sadness over her late mother Dee Dee Blanchard not getting to know her future granddaughter. In a recent episode of The Viall Files podcast, Gypsy-Rose shared her feelings about the situation.

Gypsy-Rose, who was released from prison in December 2023 after serving eight years of a 10-year sentence for conspiring to murder her mother, is currently expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend Ken Urker. She explained, "I do, from time to time, think about what could have been, and it makes me sad."

Reflecting more on the past, Gypsy-Rose mentioned that Kristy, her stepmother, has played a significant role in her life. “Kristy is going to be grandma,” she stated.

Dee Dee Blanchard was murdered in June 2015 by Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn, Gypsy-Rose's then-boyfriend. Gypsy-Rose had been a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, as her mother subjected her to numerous unnecessary medical treatments by falsely claiming she was ill.

Addressing negativity she faces online about becoming a parent, Gypsy-Rose remarked, "The one thing that just irritates me is the fact that people really have this stigma on, you know, new parents that have come from a life of trauma." She emphasized that she is taking steps to ensure her mental stability and intends to be the best parent she can be.

The couple had announced they were expecting a baby girl in August. Gypsy-Rose said she was "very surprised" when she found out about her pregnancy.
