Killed or not, Salman Khan should apologise to Bishnoi community in Blackbuck case: Famous singer

Salman Khan’s ongoing feud with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been the talk of the town lately. The superstar has been subjected to innumerable death threats for killing two Blackbucks in Rajasthan in 1998. For the unversed, the Bishnoi community deems the Blackbuck as a sacred symbol. The community representatives have requested the ‘Dabangg’ actor to issue an apology.

Singer Anup Jalota has now added fuel to the fire after he stated that the actor owes the Bishnois an apology. “I just want to say that it is not the time to get into who killed and who didn’t.... One should realise that Salman’s close friend Baba Siddique was allegedly killed because of the same. Now, the focus should be on solving the conflict,” he told ABP News.

The singer then suggested that Khan should resolve the conflict so that he could live safely. “I have a small request for Salman to go to the temple and apologise to ensure his safety and protect his family and close friends. I am sure they will accept his apology. Salman should go and then lead a safe life... It is not the time to complicate the matter. Whether he killed or not, Salman should apologise. No one will get anything by getting stuck into the feud,” he said.

The longstanding conflict between Salman Khan and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi dates back to 1998, when the actor became embroiled in the infamous blackbuck poaching case. During a court hearing in Jodhpur in 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi issued a direct threat to kill Salman. Since then, the actor has faced numerous death threats.

The poaching incident occurred while Salman was filming Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. At the time, Lawrence Bishnoi, also known as Balkaran Barar, was just five years old. The killing of the blackbucks, animals considered sacred by the Bishnoi community, deeply angered them. Salman was the primary accused and was convicted in 2018.

In April this year, two shooters, reportedly linked to the Bishnoi gang, fired shots outside Salman's Bandra home. They were later apprehended. Following the recent murder of Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman, by three attackers in Mumbai, the actor's security has been significantly increased. Despite the escalating tensions, Salman remains focused on his work
