Big Boss winner Munawar Faruqui had narrowly escaped Bishnoi gang attack, days before Baba Siddiqui's murder

The Mumbai Police recently provided security to stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui following intelligence reports that members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang were planning to assassinate him. This comes amidst the shocking murder of prominent politician Baba Siddiqui, whose death has sent shockwaves through Bollywood and political circles, further spotlighting the dangerous reach of the Bishnoi gang. Munawar Faruqui was the winner of Bigg Boss Season 17 reality show.

Last month, according to a TOI report citing intelligence officials, Faruqui was in Delhi for a show when the gang attempted to execute the hit, prompting swift intervention by law enforcement authorities.

Foiled Attack on Munawar Faruqui
A top police official confirmed that security was extended to Munawar Faruqui but withheld further details due to security concerns. The gang had allegedly been enraged by Faruqui’s jokes involving Hindu gods, leading them to place him on their hit list. In a chilling sequence of events, the gang members reportedly boarded the same flight as the comedian from Mumbai to Delhi, the report said. Upon arrival, they checked into the same hotel where Faruqui was staying for his event. Baba Siddiqui Murder
Baba Siddiqui, a three-time MLA from Bandra West, was shot dead on Saturday night in Mumbai. The assassination has left both the political and entertainment industries shaken, given Siddiqui’s close ties to Bollywood figures, including Salman Khan. Siddiqui’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, currently serving as an MLA from Bandra East, expressed shock over the brutal killing of his father, who was a key member of Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Reports citing top police officials said that two suspects in Siddiqui’s murder have been apprehended and they are probing whether the Bishnoi gang played any role in the assassination. A social media post had allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
