Bhopal, September 12, 2025 – The wait for the 28th installment of the Madhya Pradesh government’s flagship Ladli Behna Yojana ends today. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will transfer more than ₹1,541 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.26 crore women beneficiaries across the state through a single-click payment system.
The official program is being held in Petlawad, Jhabua district, where the CM will launch the fund transfer event between 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm. Each eligible woman under the scheme will receive ₹1,250 credited to her bank account as part of this installment.
Last Month’s Payment and Current UpdateIn August, beneficiaries received the 27th installment of the scheme, which included ₹1,500. That amount had a special ₹250 Raksha Bandhan bonus, making it slightly higher than the regular transfer. This time, the installment is fixed at ₹1,250.
The state government has confirmed that the amount will continue to increase gradually. Starting from October (after Bhai Dooj festival), women are expected to begin receiving ₹1,500 per month, with the ultimate goal of raising it to ₹3,000 per month by 2028.

Linked Benefits: Gas Subsidy and PensionsThe state government has tied other benefits to Ladli Behna Yojana. For instance, under the Gas Refill Subsidy Scheme, women beneficiaries of Ladli Behna and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana receive LPG cylinders at a subsidized rate of ₹450. The balance amount is directly transferred into their bank accounts.
In addition, the Chief Minister is also releasing funds under the Social Security Pension Scheme today. Over 53.48 lakh pensioners will receive ₹320.89 crore in their accounts. Furthermore, more than 31 lakh women, including Ladli Behna beneficiaries and women from special tribal categories, will get a ₹450 subsidy for LPG refills, amounting to over ₹48 crore transferred in a single click.
Special Schemes for Men and StudentsWhile the Ladli Behna Yojana mainly targets women, the state government has also announced opportunities for men. Under a new internship program, male students will receive ₹5,000 per month, while female students who enroll will get ₹6,000 per month. This step aims to promote equal education and employment opportunities across genders.
Looking AheadWith the 28th installment being credited today, the Ladli Behna Yojana continues to play a crucial role in providing financial support and empowerment to women in Madhya Pradesh. The scheme has already become one of the largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) programs in the state, and with the promise of increasing payouts in the coming years, it is set to make a significant impact on household income and women’s financial independence.
Beneficiaries are advised to keep an eye on their bank accounts this afternoon, as the transfer will begin soon after the Chief Minister initiates the program in Jhabua.
