Toll Tax Rules: The Ministry of Road and Transport has changed the rules regarding toll tax. Now if the old toll tax dues are not paid, the vehicle owner will not be able to transfer or sell his vehicle.
All four-wheelers in India have to pay toll tax when passing through highways. Many people pay the toll tax on time. But some people leave the dues or keep postponing the payment. Now the government has made a big change in this matter. If you have not paid the toll tax dues from your vehicle.
So a new problem can arise for you. Actually, the Ministry of Road Transport has implemented new rules. According to which, before selling or transferring the vehicle, it will be checked whether there is any toll tax dues on the vehicle. If there is any dues, then neither will you be able to sell the vehicle nor transfer it to anyone's name.
The vehicle will not be transferred without paying the toll tax dues
In the recent past, the government has implemented many types of policies regarding toll tax. Annual Fastag pass will also be implemented from August. Now another new rule has been implemented by the government regarding toll tax. Now no vehicle will be transferred without paying the toll tax dues. It will be necessary to pay the toll tax dues before selling the vehicle or transferring it to another person.
The Transport Department will check how much is due on the vehicle before RC transfer. If there is any pending amount in the Fastag account. Then the ownership of the vehicle cannot be changed. The Ministry of Road Transport says that this will stop toll tax theft and recovery of old dues will also be ensured.
Electronic challans will be sent
Electronic challans will be sent to all the vehicle owners on whose vehicles toll tax is due by the Ministry of Road and Transport. Complete information about the vehicle number, outstanding amount and last date of payment will be given in this challan. The ministry says that if the dues are not paid within the stipulated time.
Then a penalty will also be added to the challan. So that there is no problem in selling or transferring the vehicle in future. If the dues are not paid, then neither will an NOC be issued to save the vehicle nor will a new RC be made. Nor will any new documents related to the vehicle be issued.
