Trains to Mata Vaishno Devi: Significant relief for pilgrims. Several express trains on the Mata Vaishno Devi route will resume operations between November 1st and 5th. Check out the list.
Trains to Mata Vaishno Devi: Every year, thousands of devotees embark on the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi. This time, there's significant relief for them. The Railways has decided to resume trains that have been suspended on several key routes from the beginning of November. These include major express trains connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Jammu Tawi, Bandra Terminus, Kota, and the Yoga City of Rishikesh.
The resumption of these trains will ease travel for pilgrims, tourists, and general travelers alike. According to railway officials, these trains have been approved only after the completion of a technical inspection and safety report of the track. All trains will resume operations in phases between November 1st and 5th.
Relief for Vaishno Devi pilgrims
The Railways has announced the resumption of train services, keeping passenger convenience in mind. This will strengthen rail connectivity between major religious sites and cities in North India. This decision is particularly reassuring for pilgrims traveling to Vaishno Devi, Rishikesh, and Kamakhya. Nearly two months ago, many routes were closed due to heavy rains and waterlogging, which affected train traffic in and around Jammu and surrounding areas. Now, trains between Vaishno Devi, Jammu, and Rishikesh are back on track, making travel not only convenient but also economical. This move brings significant relief to pilgrims during the festive season.
Trains to Resume from November 1
Upright Singhal, Senior Commercial Railway Manager, Jammu Railway Division, stated that train operations have been resumed only after a safety check of the tracks. These trains are being restored in the sixth phase. Previously, several train services have been successfully resumed in five phases. More train services will be normalized in the coming days.
Singhal urged passengers to check train schedules on the Northern Railway's official website or helpline before traveling to avoid any inconvenience. Train speeds in the Jammu division are steadily returning to normal, and passengers will be able to travel again from November 1st.
These trains will resume running:
Train number 14609/10 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Yoganagari Rishikesh, operating from November 1st.
Train number 19803/04 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Kota, operating from November 2nd.
Train number 19027/28 from Jammu Tawi to Bandra Terminus, operating from November 3rd.
Train number 15655/56 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Kamakhya, operating from November 5th.
