The Range's singing and dancing Xmas Santa leaves shoppers 'in stitches'

The Range has sparked a festive buzz on social media with the launch of its new 5ft singing and dancing Santa decoration. It comes as early shoppers begin hunting for Christmas decorations and making their to-do lists ahead of the big day in December.

Standing at an impressive 152cm tall and weighing 6.2kg, The Range's Singing and Dancing Chef Santa is hard to miss. Brandishing a gingerbread house in one hand and a whisk in the other, all while playing tunes and dancing from side to side.

Priced at a hefty £129.99, this musical Santa is dressed to impress, swapping his usual seasonal attire for a cheery apron and chef's hat. This outfit makes it a perfect, if extravagant, kitchen showpiece for those going all-in on their festive décor.

The product description reads: "At the base of the standing decoration, you'll find a button to set Santa dancing to the five songs programmed into the traditional Christmas decoration. The songs are It's the most wonderful time of the Year, Up on the Housetop, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas - all helping to spread the Christmas cheer with joy."

Social media was treated to a laugh when shopper Lauren Saddington showcased the decoration's vocal power in a TikTok video. Known for her shopping and lifestyle content, Lauren failed to notice the potential in Santa's voice as she showed her followers the decoration that was almost as tall as her, reports Plymouth Live.

Santa played a tune when her partner told her to press the button A puzzled Lauren quickly went from joyful dancing to red-faced embarrassment when "Up on the Housetop" echoed throughout the shop. She admitted to another passing shopper: "I didn't expect it to do that!"

In the comments, one person said: "The way I'd be singing along with him at the same volume!" Another shared: "My dad bought one of this and a snowman he loves them!" A third confessed: "No because I saw this yesterday. It took everything for me not to buy it and been thinking about him ever since!"

Despite only heading into the discount store for a curtain pole, Lauren took a detour through the rest of The Range's Christmas collection. Her partner Dan reminded her "it's September" but she ploughed on anyway.

One item that caught her eye was her favourite 6.5ft Kensington Christmas Tree, praised online for its "realistic festive design" and "an authentic wintry touch". Lauren said its an item she "gets every year" which confused some.

She responded in the comments to clarify: "I’ve bought one 3 years in a row cos I run an events business and it’s a good tree!" Not every find had Lauren "obsessed" and ready to deck the halls though. She drew the line when confronted with a £15 Santa statue that had donned a Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses.

If the giant singing Santa might be a bit out of your budget, smaller alternatives like a 60cm Standing Santa with Candy Cane ornament for £32 could be a good option. The full collection of festive décor - from lights to ornaments and artificial trees - can be found on The Range's website.

Some items are also available to order via Click and Collect to prevent you from getting distracted in the aisles and loading up your trolley.
