A Royal expert has spilled the beans on why Prince Andrew is digging his heels in at Royal Lodge, despite King Charles turning up the heat for him to vacate the £30million Windsor residence. The 75-year-old monarch has been nudging his brother to consider a more modest abode, even suggesting , previously occupied by and .
On top of that, the King has tightened the purse strings on security for Andrew's digs, which he's believed to have been bankrolling, yet the 64-year-old prince remains defiant, claiming he'll foot the bill for his own protection squad. According to Royal commentator Rupert Bell, speaking to Times Radio, it's Andrew's "arrogance" that's keeping him anchored to the property he leased for 75 years back in 2003, reports .
Bell remarked: "One of the problems that Prince Andrew has is that he is occasionally convinced of his rightness, and he gets himself into hot water with his stubbornness and sometimes his own arrogance has caused him to create these problems."
He added, "He feels like he lost everything and if he loses his house, well then he probably feels that even more has been taken away from him."

Bell also noted the intriguing power play between the siblings, saying, "It's an interesting dynamic between these two but King is trying in a way to force his hand but if Andrew says I can afford to live here, then there's not much the King can do."
An insider spilled the beans to the Sun on Sunday: "Prince Andrew is holding firm and is determined to stay in the Royal Lodge."
They added that "He is insistent that he has the funds to pay for his own security, despite the eyewatering seven-figure sum it is reportedly costing him."
The source further claimed, "He is no longer a financial burden on the King and sees no reason why he should have to move from his home."
It's also been disclosed that Prince Andrew has aspirations for Royal Lodge to pass down to his daughters, Princess Eugenie, 34, and Princess Beatrice, 36. Despite their Royal lineage, neither princess is included in King Charles' vision of a "slimmed down monarchy" which commenced with his ascension alongside .
