'My son ran inside screaming that dad was dead - it all started with a neighbourly row over the bins'

A brave mum-of-three has revealed the moment her life changed forever when her son ran inside their home screaming his dad had been killed by a .

Louise Newell watched as monster Jamie Crosbie, 50, her fiancée Dean Allsop 17 times outside their Norwich home. Their teenage son saw the horror unfold before the depraved killer started attacking Louise, then 43.

Crosbie , neck and chest. She managed to survive the attack, but Dean died. The killer was arrested over the and was sentenced to life in 2022. The judge branded Crosbie as a "very dangerous man."

Speaking to , Louise said: "Our neighbour held a grudge against Dean for two years, then took his revenge. He was evil. He robbed my children of their father for nothing. Although Dean is gone now, I’ll never stop loving him.”

She had met groundworker Dean when they were teens and were one another's first loves. They would go on to get engaged and had three children, Millie, 22, Mikey, 20, and Jacob, eight.

Louise described Dean as her " " and a "brilliant dad." They had initially lived together in London but moved to Norfolk as they believed it would be safer for their children to grow up. But the family got a new neighbour in 2018, Crosbie. He was unlike other residents who had moved in and never said hello and always kept to himself.

In 2018, Louise had been putting Jacob to bed when her daughter ran into the bedroom and screamed that Crosbie had been attacking Dean. Louise told The Sun: "I rushed to the window and saw Jamie, on the road, throwing knives at Dean.

“I was horrified. I couldn’t believe it. He was yelling at Dean for touching his bin. Dean luckily locked himself into the garden and shouted for me to call the police. I dialled 999 and Jamie spotted me holding the baby in the window. He threw a hammer directly at us. But it missed and hit next door’s window."

Crosbie was arrested and pleaded guilty to carrying offensive weapons and criminal damage at Norwich Crown Court in 2018. The police assured the couple that Crosbie would not come near them again.

But in April 2021, when Dean was outside teaching Mikey to ride a motorbike, Crosbie ran outside and screamed at the dad for making noise. He then went back into his home and returned holding a kitchen knife.

He went on to stab Dean 17 times and then went on to attack Louise. Crosbie stabbed the mum in the neck twice, leaving her in agony. The killer then went on to attack Louise's neighbour and Louise went on to flee into someone's home. Crosbie was later arrested while covered in blood.

In a chilling remark, he told officers: "Killing people isn't always a bad thing." Louise managed to survive and was rushed to hospital. Crosbie was later sentenced to life and must serve a minimum of 28 years.
