Gogglebox returned to Gogglebox tonight, with the nation’s favourite families sharing their latest reactions to various new television programmes. The Siddiqui family from Derby are regulars on the Channel 4 show - and one of them had a particularly amusing anecdote to share this episode.
Raza Siddiqui got candid as he admitted to his dad Sid and brother Baasit that he had suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction recently. Asked how he was doing with his regular swimming sessions at his local pool, he had a confession.
He explained: “So I went the other day and my bag felt kind of light. So, I did my swimming session, I went back to the changing room, put my briefs on and my T-shirt on…
“And I realised I didn’t have any shorts!” he revealed. “So I had to sheepishly get out of the swimming baths without anybody seeing me in my briefs and my T-shirt.”
His family were in hysterics, as he continued: “I had to drive home, park on the drive and then quickly run out of the car and into my house in just my pants and T-shirt!”
That wasn’t the only part of the show that saw people talk about getting their kit off, as later in the episode, Channel 4 revealed the brand new dating show, Dating Naked.
The show, which is presented by Rylan Clark, was met with a mixed reaction from the families.
Sophie Sandiford seemed excited as the show was announced, while Mary Killen branded it “another excuse for people to perve”.
Baasit joked about the fact that British television hadn’t yet come up with a nake Bake Off parody called: “The Great British Nake-Off”.
The Gogglebox stars were stunned as they watched the show’s contestants embark on their first dates while entirely in the nude.
Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com , Rylan admitted he was lost for words when first asked to present the series.
He said: "The guys from Paramount Plus called me and said, 'This is something we'd like you to do,' and I was like, 'I'm sorry, what? I don't understand what you mean.' They were like, 'Yeah, they're naked, dating, and you see everything.'"
