'Eunuch Maker' leader who cut off body parts for pay-per-view throws tantrum in court

A man known as the "Eunuch Maker" threw a tantrum in court after he was told that he would be jailed for life after mutilating body parts and filming it.

Marius Gustavson, 47, from Norway, kicked off at his legal team when he was given the news that he would serve at least 22 years in jail. He was put behind for his heinous crimes which included extreme body modifications that he carried out inside his flat in London.

The twisted leader removed penises, testicles and legs before uploading the disturbing footage to his Eunuch Maker website. He racked up 22,841 subscribers worldwide and made almost £300,000 in four years.

Despite his sickening crimes, Gustavson blamed his legal team for having to spend the next two decades in jail. His barrister Rashvinder Panesar told the Old Bailey on Tuesday: "Understandably there was some turbulence with those defending him following his life ."

Gustavson stopped contact with his and was threatening to hire new ones to represent him at a confiscation hearing. The court heard that he stored men's body parts in a freezer and once cooked himself a testicle salad for lunch. He froze his own leg off and had his penis removed, then claimed disability payments.

Prosecutors are attempting to claw back some of the money he made from the website, but Gustavson has not engaged with the process at all so far. Mr Panesar said Gustavson, who is appealing his, is now back in communication with his lawyers to dispute the amount of money he has to pay back. "The issue, in the main with Mr Gustavson's case is one of double counting," Mr Panesar explained. Gustavson claims only £60,000 came from the website and the prosecution have inflated the figure they are trying to claim from him by counting some money twice.

He also says they have included money given to him by his husband and his mother. The Recorder of London, Judge Mark Lucraft, gave Gustavson until January 8 to respond to the prosecution and there will be another court hearing on January 24. Gustavson is currently serving his sentence in HMP Parkhurst on the Isle of Wight and did not attend today's hearing. Six other members of the body modifications cult were also .

Retired Peter Wates, 67, who was involved in nine procedures, was jailed for 12 years. Former surgical assistant David Carruthers, 61, who kept his own testicles in his chest freezer, was for 11 years while his husband Ashley Williams, 32, was jailed for four years and six months for helping him remove a testicle from Janus Atkin, 39.

Atkin, who studied veterinary science and was involved in eight procedures, was for 12 years. German Stefan Scharf, 61, was jailed for four years and six months for removing one testicle from a man in Gustavson's Camden flat while Romanian Ion Ciucur, 30, was jailed for five years and eight months.

Gustavson, who worked as a postman in Norway, is now wheelchair-bound after his leg was frozen and then amputated. He received £18,500 in disability benefits after forcing the to amputate his left leg by putting it in dry ice for two hours but did not pay tax on the profits from his website.
