Chelsea star makes bizarre Cristiano Ronaldo promise after signing new deal

Nicolas Jackson has vowed to keep copying childhood hero Cristiano Ronaldo should he embark on a Chelsea goal rush.

The 23-year-old has hit 19 goals in 49 Blues appearances since arriving from Villarreal. Despite still having plenty of time on his original deal, Jackson has committed his future to the West London club.

He has put pen to paper on a new NINE-year deal with Chelsea that will run until 2033. In promoting the contract, Jackson was given the task of explaining his goal celebrations.

He used his siuuu celebration - made famous by Cristiano Ronaldo - after scoring a hat-trick against Tottenham and the striker has since promised to perform the move even more in the future should he score another treble. He said: "The siuuu is like important. Just when I score hat-trick, I’ll do that one.”

Jackson has previously explained why he performs the celebration. Last year, he admitted that he was a big fan of ex-Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo as a child.

The striker said: “When I was growing up, I loved Cristiano Ronaldo. I had his name on a shirt that I always wore. Not an actual shirt because they are expensive, so you don’t buy them. But I had a shirt that I put 7, Ronaldo on with a pen. I did it myself when I was a kid.

“Of course, I would pretend to be him, but it was difficult to watch his games because you needed to pay. We would go to my friend’s house, everybody. We would watch in a large group, never just with one person in the house. All my friends, we’d all go to one house to watch Real Madrid.”

Jackson has started the current campaign in positive form having struck twice in his opening four Premier League games - form that has seen him rewarded with a new deal. Speaking about the decision to commit his future to Chelsea, he said: “I am feeling very good and am very happy to sign a new contract and stay at the club.

“It feels great the club has confidence in me. I am working very hard. I am very happy to extend my contract and stay here for many years.”

Jackson has a host of chances to extend his form over the coming weeks. Chelsea travel to West Ham at the weekend before taking on Barrow in the third round of the Carabao Cup. They then take on Brighton before getting their Europa Conference League group campaign underway against Belgian side Gent.
