Brendan Cole's issue with Tasha Ghouri performances - 'It doesn't have a place on Strictly'

Former professional has pointed out one aspect of 's performances he thinks has "no place" on the BBC series.

The dancer, 48, has praised the reality TV star - the second deaf contestant to appear on Strictly - and her dance partner partner for "trying to be different and new" during the live shows but feel one aspect from their routine on Saturday night didn't belong on the dancefloor.

Speaking in the wake of series over the weekend, Brendan praised dancer for "getting the choreography exactly right" with her celebrity partner Chris McCausland as he tipped the comic to go far in the star-studded competition.

But on a more negative note, Brendan revealed who is thinks will be next to get the boot and the one thing he doesn't like about former star Tasha's performances. "Punam [Krishan] is definitely the worst dancer now that Nick [Knowles] has gone," Brendan admitted.

"Nick's number was pretty bad, but it's a shame because I actually liked what he did," he went on to tell Sky Vegas. He then turned his attention to Tasha's props. The dancer, who left the Strictly line-up in 2017, admitted: "I didn't like [ ] having a selfie stick on the floor, for me, that doesn't have a place, but they're trying to be different and new."

favourite Tasha seemed on the verge of tears after successfully making it through to the next week with her dance partner Aljaz during Sunday night's pre-record Strictly Results Show. The duo were thrilled as they were confirmed to have garnered enough votes to return for another week.

It followed their top-scoring performance on Saturday night, where they secured the number one spot on the leaderboard with their energetic Charleston to Anne-Marie's rendition of Unhealthy by Shania Twain. Tasha cautioned her fellow contestants in the studio that she was "going to get emotional again" when presenter Claudia Winkleman questioned her about her family.

Claudia asked her: "Tasha, on Saturday night it was an emotional night for you.... When you got those scores and I was looking at your face, I almost went. Tell me what it meant to you." An evidently moved Tasha responded: "I think it's because my Mum and Nan are in the audience. Especially my Nan... She's like my best friend and I'm going to get emotional again."

Her voice wavered as she added: "I just went out there and had the best time but having Nan and Mum there was special. And it was their first time coming, so it really was a special moment." Aljaz then revealed their dance for the following week, exciting fans by announcing: "We're going to be doing a Tango to [The Day Are Over by Florence and the Machine]."

Tasha and Aljaz seized the top spot on the leaderboard last night, while Dr Punam Krishnan and Gorka Marquez found themselves trailing with a mere 20 points for their Jive. Hype is building around Tasha as she's pegged to be a front-runner for the Strictly final, thanks to her excellent dance prowess and endearing character.

Over on , fans couldn't contain their excitement about Tasha and Aljaz's upcoming performance. One user posted: "Tasha's routine next week is about to be UNBELIEVABLE." Another fan gushed in anticipation: "Tasha dancing tango to one of my favourite ever songs next week, so excited #Strictly."

Adding to the chorus of excitement, another tweet read: "OMG A Tango to Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine for Tasha and Aljaz next week. One of my favourite songs. Can't wait for this! ". The excitement didnt stop there, as yet another fan shared: "tasha dancing to florence next week i might cry #strictly."
