Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has announced that he is back on Instagram. The 47-year-old last posted in March 2021 but has now returned to the social media platform.
Henry, who scored 226 goals in 370 appearances during his time at the Gunners, quit his role as coach with France Under 21s after their Olympic final defeat against Spain. He won eight of his 11 matches in charge.
Since then, Henry has continued his work with CBS Sports for their Champions League coverage. The Frenchman has been a pundit for the American network over the last three years, with Kate Scott, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards among those working alongside him.
During that period, Henry hasn't been an active user on Instagram. In a post on 26 March, 2021, Henry wrote: "Hi Guys. From tomorrow morning I will be removing myself from social media until the people in power are able to regulate their platforms with the same vigour and ferocity that they currently do when you infringe copyright.
"The sheer volume of racism, bullying and resulting mental torture to individuals is too toxic to ignore. There HAS to be some accountability.
"It is far too easy to create an account, use it to bully and harass without consequence and still remain anonymous. Until this changes, I will be disabling my accounts across all social platforms. I'm hoping this happens soon."

After a three-and-a-half-year hiatus, Henry has now confirmed that he is back on Instagram. In a post on Tuesday evening, he said in a caption: "I'm back," including an image displaying the same two words. The post has been 'liked' by over 100,000 people within the first two hours of it going live.
