And so the final round begins. The bell has sounded. There is one month left to go of the summer transfer window.Work is still to be done.
For Arsenal, a large portion of their business is complete. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Noni Madueke all joined before pre-season began. Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres were not too far behind them, making their debuts on Thursday against Tottenham.
Delays to finishing things off with Sporting CP, and a protracted process to get to the stage of landing on Gyokeres over Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko in the first place, meant that Mikel Arteta did not have a new striker in for the return to training as was initially hoped. Ultimately, Arsenal have addressed key areas ahead of the Premier League.
They still have two friendlies before travelling to Manchester United on the opening day in just over a fortnight's time. The hours spent at London Colney will be beneficial to all.
More ins and outs are expected to follow. Andrea Berta's active first window in charge as sporting director still needs some sales. The futures of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, and Jakub Kiwior are not certain.
Depending on what happens in attack, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are sure to have plenty of noise surrounding them in the last four and a bit weeks.

It is on the left that attention will turn for Arsenal. Eberechi Eze has remained a name of interest and that is only going to increase as the deadline starts to loom. Arsenal have three deadlines to try to buy him from Crystal Palace.
The first one actually combines with the second. They will want him before the Premier League season gets underway. That helps with planning, familiarity, and settling down. But there is a financial aspect.
football.london understands that his release clause also expires at the same point, meaning they must act sharply if they are to get Eze for the fixed price.Palace are believe to want at least £35million up front, regardless of the clause or structure.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are in no rush to activate the clause and hope to negotiate on the fee and payments. Either way, the start of the season is a line on the horizon and it is coming.
Then, beyond that, is actual deadline day: September 1. The window will close earlier than usual - ending at 7pm rather than 11pm - and is fast approaching.
Once the competitive football returns, things will speed along even quicker. Doing transfers in the period of limbo between the Premier League starting and the window closing is fraught. It is often filled with panic. Arsenal would surely rather have Eze and have to deal with these obstacles than not get him at all.
