Man swept away amid flash floods
In one of the most alarming visuals from the rains, a video captured a man wearing a yellow t-shirt being swept away by a strong current near the Dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz.
The narrow lanes surrounding the shrine, overwhelmed by continuous rainfall, resembled small rivers, making them perilous for locals and pilgrims alike.

Bystanders tried desperately to pull the man to safety, but the sheer force of the water made the rescue attempt difficult. It wasn’t until a brave hotel staffer intervened that the man was finally pulled out.
The clip, widely shared online, highlighted both the chaos and the courage that unfolded during the deluge.
Ana Sagar lake overflows
As rainwater surged into the city, the nearby Ana Sagar Lake spilled over, intensifying the flooding situation in Ajmer. Locals attempted to manage the overflow using sandbags, but the volume of water proved overwhelming.
According to Vinod Manohar, Chief Engineer at the Municipal Corporation, the flooding was exacerbated by water entering through escape channels whose gates had been opened by about 30 inches.

“The waterlogging is due to the water from the escape channels (of the lake)... The channel gates have been opened by nearly 30 inches and if needed, we will reduce it... There has been 8-9 inches of rainfall since yesterday,” Manohar told ANI. He added that adjustments to the escape channels would be made if the situation worsens.
Heavy rainfall batters multiple Rajasthan districts
The extreme weather in Ajmer was part of a larger system sweeping through Rajasthan, powered by a low-pressure area that originated in the Bay of Bengal.
Several districts—including Bundi, Rajsamand, Kota, Pali, Pratapgarh, Jodhpur, and Dholpur—reported heavy rainfall, with Jaipur experiencing steady showers and gusty winds from Friday evening into Saturday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert predicting more very heavy rainfall across Rajasthan, raising concerns about further waterlogging, road blockages, and potential casualties.
With visuals of submerged vehicles, stranded locals, and overflowing drains going viral online, authorities have been urged to ramp up relief and drainage operations as the rains continue.
